Bias-Based Policing Review Committee

The Bias-Based Policing Review Committee reviews all investigations related to allegations of racial or ethnic discrimination and other bias-based policing or external complaints of bias or discrimination during interactions with covered agencies’ law enforcement officers. 

The term “bias-based policing” means the unreasonable use of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or religion by a law enforcement officer in deciding to initiate an enforcement action.

The Bias-Based Policing Review Committee includes the following Commissioners:

Mr. Marvin Boyer, Chairperson
Dr. A. Suresh Canagarajah PhD
Ms. Denise Ashe
Ms. Marisa C. Williams

The Commission has set the Review Committee Meeting Schedule through the next Commission meeting.
